1.Would SchoolNet/ ICT be incorporated into private Secondary Schools?
The current SchoolNet Guyana project, supported by the Ministry of Education in Guyana, will computerize all public secondary schools in Guyana. There are no immediate plans to incorporate ICT into private schools.

|
2.How would the parents be educated on the usage of ICT?
Parents can learn through the PTA or School Boards about implementation of ICT into the school curriculum
and its impact on their children’s education. Parents can also support their children by having computer systems and internet connectivity at home, if possible. This would allow their children to become more informed (through research and e-mails) and would also support after-school projects.

|
3.How would a person in Guyana hear about this SchoolNet Project?
The SchoolNet Guyana Committee plans to keep the public informed about upcoming events on SchoolNet Guyana through Press Releases, fund raising events etc. All communication would reference and encourage a visit to our website
www.globalpartnershipforliteracy.org . In addition, individual School Boards and Parent Teacher’s Associations would keep their members apprised of new school learning activities.
